My home, My haven

Standard

Your irises like crystal waters

swimming around your pupils.

Your skin looks like a snow canvas

but only spreads warmth.

Your hands blank and wide

tightly grips onto mine.

Your lips full and thin

are soft then firm.

Your presence is guarded

but I’m prepared to knock down your walls

because your embrace is my home;

your arms are my haven.

My Love

Standard

From the moment I saw you

I was in love

And I carried it

For so long

I tried to give it to you

But you would turn it down

Even when it looked like you wanted to accept

You wouldn’t let me know

So I carried it around

Holding it safe in my heart

Until you were ready

Until I was crippled from the hurt

Eventually I could take no more

And just as I was ready to set it free

You admitted defeat

From the moment you kissed me

I knew I was in love

I am trusting you now

With my fragile heart

Please be gentle

Don’t let it fall apart

Please keep it safe

In the haven of your arms

Take The Leap!

Standard

Tried to let you go
Tried to move on
Never really could
Always held on
To the little amount of hope inside.

Tried to walk away
But my feet never moved
Tried to take a step
But cement was like glue
Always keeping my faith in you

{bridge}
Now here we are
And you’re just a kiss away from me
Never been more sure
Of what my heart was telling me

{chorus}
It’s screaming, “Take the leap.”
I ask it, “What If it breaks me?”
“We’ve been broken before
And we always bounce back
You’ve been waiting forever to take his hand,”‘
It screams, “Just take the leap!”

Texting on the phone
All night long
‘Till we fall asleep
At the sound of my ringtone ringing in my ear.

Wake up to the thought of you
And my face is flushed
Getting ready for the day
With a big smile on
Because I know you’ll text me soon.

{bridge}
Now here we are
And you’re just a kiss away from me
Never been more sure
Of what my heart was telling me

{chorus}
It’s screaming, “Take the leap.”
I ask it, “What if it breaks me?”
“We’ve been broken before
And we always bounce back
You’ve been waiting forever to take his hand,”
It screams, “Just take the leap!”

Falling down faster and faster
(take the leap)
The ground is getting closer and closer
(take the leap)
Will I fall? Will you catch me in your arms?
(take the leap)
Ah, who cares!

I’m going to take the leap
Don’t care if it breaks me
I’ve been broken before
And I always bounce back
I’ve been waiting a life-time just to hold your hand
I’m going to take the leap.

Another Mothers Day Poem

Standard

You have always been there to bandage up a cut knee,

Even now when I am nineteen.

The tears you cry

Are my own

The things you feel

I feel in my soul.

You always gave me a push

When I felt like a wuss.

You would pick me up when I was down

The thought of you not being around

Tears my heart to threads.

If you were ever gone, I would be one heck of a mess.

You are my best-friend

I cherish each and every moment we spend.

No matter if we agree or disagree

No matter if we’re laughing or fighting

I couldn’t love you any more

Have a great day, Mother. ❤

I love you mom, happy mothers day!
And happy mothers day to all the Moms out there!!

Child of the Sea

Standard

It ebbs onto my skin

Covering me:

Its kin.

It swarms into my soul

Its mysteries

Make me whole.

We breathe in unison

In.

Out.

It draws itself across my body

In.

Out.

I beg it to take me with it.

Let me be a part of you.

A storm swells deep within it

Come my child

As it falls over me

Like a tsunami

Taking me adrift.

Taking me home.
