Part of Your World

This is my version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid’s famous song “Part Of Your World” (one of my favorite songs of all time). I thought it would be fun to write it in the point of view of a human who wanted to be a mermaid. I hope no one takes offense, it’s just meant to be fun. Enjoy 😀

Look at the sea

Isn’t it neat?

Water slapping against my feet

I wish it could be-

Could be apart of me.

Look at these waves

Treasures untold

How many wonders can one ocean hold?

Looking around here I’m sure-

Sure it’s got everything.

Its got translucent fish aplenty

Rainbows of reefs gallor

Sunken ships? It’s got many!

You don’t care?

Well I do,

I want to explore!

I wanna be where the Mer are

I wanna see, wanna see their kingdom

Swimming around with those-

What are they called?-Oh-fins!

Walking around you don’t get too far

Tails can take you around the world

Traveling through those- what’s that word again?

Currents

Down where they swim

Down way deep

Where even I can’t see

Wondering free

Wish I could be

Part of that world.

What would I give to live in those cool waters

What would I pay to live off of this land

Bet’cha down there they understand

They don’t reprimand their daughters

Bright young women, sick of standin’

Ready to swim

I’m ready to know what the Mer know

Ask them my questions and get some answers

Do they have gills? Do they have lungs? How do they

Breathe?

Whens it my turn?

Wouldn’t I love, love to explore the world down below.
